What the bleep kind of comment is this? or Spam is stupid.

I was looking through comments on my other blog, and came upon this one. I'm pretty sure all the comments that go through it are spam, but this one struck me as hilarious and also kind of ticked me off. Stupid spam.

"certainly like your web site however you have to check the spelling on several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I in finding it very bothersome to inform the reality then again I’ll certainly come again again."

First of all, sir, Mr. Spam or whatever the heck you call yourself. Your comment is "rife" with nonsense. I find it very bothersome to read. Inform the reality? These spammers sure do love to bring up reality. And as for the spelling on several of my posts. I am a journalism major. It is my job to have flawless spelling. Plus, I have spell check. It automatically underlines anything fishy, and it even corrects it as I'm typing. I am 100% positive there is nothing wrong with my spelling. There is, however, something wrong with your brain. Get it checked. I certainly hope you don't come again again. Moron.

In conclusion, spam is stupid, my spelling is perfectly fine, and you should inform the reality of your stupidity.

Secession petitions

That's fun to say. Secession petitions.

Anyway, I'm reading this article on Yahoo about states that want to secede from the United States. This line from it amuses me:

"The odds of the American government granting any state permission to go its own way are on par with winning the lottery while getting hit by a meteor while seeing Bigfoot while finding gluten-free pizza that tastes like the real thing."

Lolz. Author's got some humor there.

Here's the rest of the article:

I think I'll write about this in my big girl blog over at www.lmlewiswrites.wordpress.com for my weekly news post. So that will be up by Wednesday. Be sure to check it out.

You guysss.

You guys. The semester is almost over. I'm excited. But I still have about... 4 major papers due, and 2 or 3 minor ones due. Not so excited. I don't know how I'm going to motivate myself to do them.

One shouldn't be so hard. I'll be analyzing My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. You guys know how much I love that darn show. So that should be a breeze.

Another is on Dracula. Pretty good book. Slow, but whatever. Not sure what aspect of it I'm going to focus on for the paper. It'll come to me. Hopefully soon, because it's due the 19th.

The other ones are English related.

So there's an update on the college life. Have I made an effort to be social? Not so much. Doesn't come easy.

Not much else to update on... so until next time, fellow bloggers.

Friendship is magic! Oh, and here's an excerpt of a wonderful conversation I had with Cleverbot.

I have no soul.

I haven't a soul. It's officially gone. I put it in this machine to pay off my debt. If you look hard enough, you will find my soul. This is my horcrux. There's the name for my new macbook. I dub it… him… Horcrux. Or… He Who Shall Not Be Named. Or You Know Who. Whatever. Or maybe even Avada Kedavra, because this thing positively killed my bank account. Yes. That sounds good. I will guard You Know Who with my life.

Interviewing and other journalism related things

This past Thursday I conducted my very first interview for a community coverage article. I was nervous and I said "Um," a lot. It is really hard not to say that. Try it sometime.

Besides that, I think it went pretty well. I finished transcribing the whole interview yesterday. Now for a lead. And actually writing the article. I'm also nervous about this part. I have all the information ready; all that is left is to plug it in to something worth publishing. I am excited. It's like putting a puzzle together. I never really liked puzzles, but I love writing. I love the whole process of putting words together. It sounds like I'm getting philosophical, so I'll stop there. There is no time for that.

On an unrelated note, this cooler weather is freaking amazing! Yay, boot weather! And long sleeves, and knee high socks. It's all so exciting. Halloween will be here soon. I AM SO EXCITED. CANDY. Anyway, I have to go read Dracula now. Laters.
